In December 2016 compared with November 2016, seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector decreased by 0.2% in the euro area, while it increased by 0.6% in the European Union, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
If we talk about Bulgaria, for the same period production the construction in Bulgarian sector decreased by 2.1% and decreased by 9.5% comparing to the December of 2015
According to the National Statistical Institute (NSI) issuing building permits goes slowly but still but it reaches far more stable results. Last year were issued about 4 500 building permits for new residential buildings in the country, which is 4.7 percent more than in 2015.
The construction of the objects that began last year go rapidly, which means that through 2016 certainly have been received and issued permits for previous years.
New constructions are still concentrated in the largest cities of the country - Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Bourgas, because of the development of local economies and the availability of job vacancies that attract people from other places.
